Food Adventure at Bukit Bintang: Feeka Coffee Roasters, Vivo Pizza & An Arabic Cuisine Restaurant

My first destination, Feeka Coffee Roasters! I have not been to this cafe in a year or so. It's just less than 10 minutes walking distance from Bukit Bintang monorail station, right behind Jalan Alor and Chiangkat. Got there for morning coffee and to takeaway cakes for my friends' mini birthday celebrations.

Our meetup point is at Berjaya Times Square's Vivo Pizza. Initially, I suggested Kikuzakura but only found out it was closed... That was my favorite Japanese restaurant, they're now moved to Mid Valley. Vivo Pizza was a random restaurant we decided on because we were hungry hahahah. Turned out they serve really amazing pizzas!

We ordered Smoked Salmon pizza and All Around the World, both about RM75 for 11 inches pizzas. Both are amazing but salmon lovers, you'd totally love the former!!

We sang a happy birthday and dug into the cakes (Salted caramel nuts and Japanese cheese cake slices) while waiting for our food to arrive LOL

After stuffing ourselves, we chatted and took plenty of instax (with the help of Vivo Pizza's amazing staffs)! These are some of them, now sitting in my ever growing collection. Ok, I have about 30 now, that's 3 cartridges in just over two months (>v<)

After two of them left, it was Ben and I who took our time exploring the newly renovated Isetan, window-shopping then checking out Chiangkat & Jalan Alor before deciding on a place to have dinner. I even showed him where I got my coffee and cake hahahaha. There are just so, so many restaurants and cafes we have yet to explored, yet we have so little chances and tummy capacity wth to try them all!

Break at ChaTime!

We chose Arabic between Vietnamese, Chinese, Thailand and Arabic, so many choices!

Had super filling meal! We ordered fatoush salad (RM8) which is hands down, the yummiest appetizer ever (so's all Arabic/Pakistani-style salads) and  mixed grilled meat platter (RM36) that comes with naans, so yummy, I would SUPER RECOMMEND this place!!

Unfortunately, I don't remember the place name (or how to read the logo).....

~♥~

At Isetan, we found tons of interesting imported Japanese crafts, fashion and even a humongous coloring board. You bet we demonstrated our creativity and 'helped' color.

Aquaria Kuala Lumpur @KLCC Experience

Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to visit Aquaria KLCC, a place I have been wanting to visit for all the years I live in Kuala Lumpur. I got to know that I could purchase the tickets for less at 11th Street site, the same online shopping portal I got my Instax Mini Films, also for an awesome bargain!

The tickets for adult Malaysians cost RM46 if you purchase at the counter but only RM35 for adults online.

However, you do need to send text message to the vendor to claim your e-tickets, which takes two days to process. I had initially planned for a Saturday outing but because I had only contacted the vendor on a Friday, they got back to my adventure kaki (Kaki means leg in Malay but it is a Malaysian way of saying a buddy who hangs out with you whether for travel or mamak session or just anything!), stating that they couldn't get the e-tickets confirmed.

We got there at 11AM, hoping to get away from the crowd but 10 minutes into checking in, there was already a mini crowd. We were lucky to catch the cute otters feeding slash exercising session and they were adorable! Fun fact, the Malaysian otters are the smallest in the world! Which means the other otters gotta be obese, cause the otters displayed was by no mean "small". Good to know there are fat otters around.

We cruised past mini aquariums with fishes, crabs, lobsters, eels & loads other animals then past a 'shipwreck' housing several other aquariums with odd looking fishes. I won't upload many photos here cause I don't want to spoil the fun of exploring Aquaria KLCC, but trust me, it may not be the biggest aquarium in South East Asia, it is still an interesting destination if you love aquariums as much as I do.

My favorite part gotta be the rain forest, which house a few tanks with humongous-size fish, you might wonder how many people one fish can feed. I know, I know, but they're sorta food so....

If you're as observant as me, you'd notice they play recordings of birds in the wild and even thunders, accompanied by lightning effect which was pretty cool!

My next favorite part is the tunnel, where you can admire the fishes swimming around and over you, even huge sharks and stingray! Or funny faces of stingray like this one

I'm under the sea~ under the sea~

If you're lucky, you might catch a glimpse of fishes feeding on one another. Spotted a stingray feeding on some fish LOL.

I went through the tunnel twice because I love the place so much! Could have gone in another time but I don't want to bore my friend, just in case.

Afterwards, more aquariums and then it was browsing through the souvenirs shop. They have lotsa cute plushies and I bought a husky one, because the fur is so soft~~~ Another because I have been looking for doggy plushies :)

See my cutie~

Anddd that was it! Oh how I wish there were more! Though we did spent a good one and a half hour in there LOL

~~

We were starving after that, me only had Porky for breakie because I was rushing out and my adventure kaki only had a box of milk wtf. Because we spotted a  palm-sized crab that reminded us of soft shell crab, we decided to go for Japanese hahahahah.

I recommended Yuzu, a place I had been a few years ago and love their bento set so much because the food is amazing and its generous portion so worth the price! Ben thought he could just go with a simple, small set but it came with so many sides which was not shown in the menu hahahaha

This was Ben's bento _ Salmon Bento RM37 or RM39 I don't remember.

Mine, Yuzu Bento for about RM50

I only remembered I ordered the similar set the first time I went to Yuzu when the bento arrived and everything was just how I remembered it. The food are just as how I remembered them too, so yummy and the quality unchanged. I still love them very much! Will highly recommend this place. We were so stuffed OMG, so much that I didn't feel hungry until late evening.

That same day, I got my hair dyed mermaid color, it was not what I planned. Tell you how that happened in my next post!

Celebrating Jia's birthday at Pattisez, Bangsar

Last weekend, we had a get-together among my travel buddies. As we are drawing to the end of December, it will mark our  6 month together. I'm pretty proud of putting this bunch of people together and super pleased that everyone made their effort to get to know each other. I REALL-LY am *tears of joy*

Ahem.

This get-together was also a surprise birthday party for Jia. Though she was so potato (Hokkien "Hanchu" which translate to 1) potato or 2) someone clueless _referring to 2) here) to the extend that even while we were singing her Happy Birthday, she didn't know it was for her... Damn potato-lah.

I suggested Patissez as I have been wanting to try their Freak Shake, their milkshake famous for being serve in a mason jar with creative toppings of pretzels or cake and whipped cream. Or simply Calorie Bomb #TrueAF

What I forgot to check out was what are in their menu. Had a bit difficulty deciding from the lack of choice and because they were pricey.

Ended up with Big Breakfast for myself. All was good except the mushrooms, which my friend and I agree that they tasted bad..

I don't remember what my friend's platter are called, so pictures should suffice..  ( ^ o ^;;)

Ben couldn't finish his sweet potato fries (I love this!), so he offered it to us. Tasted awesome with the spicy sauce, combination of mayo and sriracha.

this is one calorie bomb!

I think this Freak Shake tasted good but they proof too sweet for my liking despite my love for sweets and cakes. My friends have lots of praise for Freak Shake, so definitely a recommendation for you people with sweeter tooth than me LOL

Overall, I think service-wise and the food was satisfactory among my friends, so yayyy! The nay side would be the price and how limited the choices are though the latter is pretty common-lah with cafes.

My verdict? You go try that Freak Shake-lah.

Girls' Saturday Day Out: Izakaya Aka Chochin

Konnichiwa~!

photocat Yesterday, I hung out with a friend and we finally got to try out the new Japanese restaurant in Pavillion called Izakaya Aka Chochin. Been wanting to try since I first spotted it a few weeks ago! So this post is mostly about what we had at Izakaya and other cafes we dropped by lol.

Jyan~~ Le me at Izakaya~! (*°▽°*)♪

Forehead so long not sure 'cuz of lens distortion or what...

Le me @Izakaya Aka Chochin

Only recently I've been introduced to the concept on Izakaya, which is known to be a place where Japanese hold nomikai or drinking party. I actually have my first experience dining in an Izakaya right beside Shibuya 109 in Tokyo which I had drafted a post on but yet to be published. Dragged for so long 'cuz my schedule's been occupied again.

That's what happen when you try to balance work with studies and so blogging and other hobbies comes in last... ( T____T )

That aside, sharing some photos we took yesterday~

Egg souffle~ We thought it is the size of the usual chawan mushi but it turned up in a huge bowl of super succulent souffle~ yum yum!

Then fluffy cheese okonomiyaki. Not the best I've tried but it was still good.

We wanted to order idako for appetizer but overlooked when ordering but then the food turned out to be wayy too much for us both. After spending hours trying to finish out meal and chatting at the same time, we went window shopping for a bit before heading to Komugi at Tokyo Street upstairs.

I like Komugi's pastries but never dined in the cafe before (OへO)

@Komugi

Had their flavored latte in hazelnut and it was really yummy. Plus it came with an uber cute Hello Kitty coffee art~!

Hazelnut Latte @Komugi

Also ordered matcha parfait. There's ALWAYS space for more desserts!

Nadia ordered this Chocolate Monkey which is actually chocolate banana lolol. Such a befitting name!

More shopping afterwards because Nadia needed to get some clothes for some occasions~ So while she does the changing and catwalk, I snap some photos from the boutique, occasionally took some pics of her modeling the clothes too hahahaha

After all that, more drinks. I cannot believe how much sugar I consumed yesterday... Today trying to detox by drinking loads of water 'cuz I felt a bit guilty wth

This is what I had_Loaf Mocktail from The Loaf~

And carrot cake~

Between all the shopping and chatting, the heels of my favorite wedges I was wearing came off いやだ! ( T a T ''||) and had to get another.. Not sure if it's a blessing in disguise or what but I finally get to buy this moca color heels I've been eyeing a while...

And bought another pvc-style one from Jelly Bunny because the other day I waded through streams of water (ankle high even with heels) in my work shoes when it rained heavily the other day fml.

Shoesss~~ Jelly Bunny bow flats and Vincci moca color heels

I was worried because I have bought many work flats that didn't survived through the rain and lasted like less than a month from being over-worn. What's more flats are my least favorite item to splurge on urggghhh

A friendly girl who was paying at the counter assured me hers lasted for 2 years and that I would be back for more. When I posted on my fb, another told me Jelly Bunny's really worth it. The brand's seems to have lotsa strong supporters.
