2016 One Year Selfie Challenge

In my last post where I wrote about my New Year Resolutions I mentioned I have a challenge which I wanted to share with you guys.

And it's just as the title of this post suggested _ a One Year Selfie Challenge! I got my inspiration from videos I watched previously on Youtube/shared on FB. I'm no selfie person but I find this challenge really interesting to see how you have changed throughout the year (⌒▽⌒) It will definitely be more interesting to see how you evolve over a period of 3-5 years but let's get started from this year!

I'm just gonna include videos I found from Youtube here just to give you an idea. I think you might have come across some of them before.

You can even choose to do this challenge with a partner!

You don't have to take selfie 365 days, maybe 2-5 times a week or whenever it comes across your mind LOLOL.

So far, I already took a few pics from early this year. Hoping my determination doesn't falter too soon wth LOL! Here I've put some of them together, gonna complete the rest by year end wooohoo!

So, are you guys up to it?

2016 Resolutions and 2015 Resolutions Recap

Happy Chinese New Year, everyone!

For everyone celebrating, I hope you had an amazing break and enjoyable CNY! If you're single like me and still receiving ang pows a.k.a. red packets, hope you get lotsa ang pows. You still got until 20th February to collect them LOL! On top of that, since it's Valentine's today, I wish you all a Happy V day!! Even if you're single, just go and have a blast!

Like last year, I'm taking my time this CNY to look back at all my blog resolutions and see if I have achieve what I hope to do! First, let's look back into last year's resolutions:

2015 Resolutions Recap

1) Persevere in blogging

Probably the most difficult thing to do LOL. But I managed! YAYYY!!

2) Doing something "more" for my blog

As you know, I have just given my blog a name change and give it a lil' bit of makeover (though I'm considering to change my blog theme again because the one now won't allow my full post to be shown...).

Apart from that, you've seen my OOTDs post (though unfrequent) and recently I'm back doing vlogs! You can check out my channel here.

So far I've posted 3 videos this year and my latest video taken and edited yesterday here ⇓

I still have several videos to edit which you will see on my channel in the next few weeks! Look forward to it!!

3) Get a new camera

Yes, I got a new camera last year, a Casio Exilim ZR-1200. I know I mentioned I wan't to make a review about it but truthfully, there are many settings which I'm still not familiar with!

It is an amazing camera, with a flip screen for selfie-taking, which I usually use when wefie-ing LOL. My friends love this particular feature a lot! I'm using the same camera for all my vlogs too, it's clearer compared to my last camera, so yes, I'm super duper happy with this one. Now I'm obsessed in getting more accessories for my camera (mini tripod, wifi sd card, underwater bag, etc) and eyeing a go pro camera but the latter have to wait because it's so pricey!

4) Travel overseas

No, I didn't travel last year (T___T ) I have Japan, Singapore and Bangkok in my wishlist but last year I was so occupied with many things I decided not to... But this year! I'm definitely taking time off. Perhaps not just travelling overseas, but locally as well. I haven't been to many places in Malaysia like Pulau Ketam or Pulau Pangkor. They're in my wishlist alright ( ⌒o⌒)

5) Improving my Japanese

I still suck in Japanese... While I did passed my JLPT N3, my grasps in the language is still no good. I don't have many chances to speak here *sigh* And Kanji, I'm working on it! To improve my Jap, I'm looking to take intensive classes and maybe find a penpal who'd help me and in return I can teach them English. *crossing my fingers*

6) Learn to speak Chinese dialects

I bought some Penang Hokkien Dialect books last year and yes, I do speak a bit more Chinese with my friends. But mostly we speak rojak language LOL. Rojak means a combination of English, Manglish, Mandarin, Hokkien and Malay whattheheck (>▽<)

 7) Giving more love to my mind and body

I pamper myself a lot LOL. Find out what I did in my reviews tab above (*⌒∇⌒*)

~♥~

Those are pretty much what my last year resolutions are. My 2016 resolutions are pretty similar so I won't be elaborating much.

2016 Resolutions

1) Persevere in Blogging AND Vlogging

2) Travel Locally & Overseas

3) Continue working on my languages

JLPT N2 next, yosh~!

4) Save more

5) Challenge myself more!

I got a simple challenge which I will be sharing in my next post! Make sure to follow my blog to find out what it is and hopefully, you can join me with the challenge!

Until my next post!

i vlogged : weekend The Forum KL cafe hangout~!

Hello people~!

I made another video here. Recorded from 2 weekends ago when my friends and I hung out at The Forum Cafe.

Actually, have another version of this video with my friends in it but this one it's just me because I don't think my friends want to have their face published LOL. I did shared with them the other version and one of them liked it. I too, liked that one better, it's a shame I couldn't share with you :(

Besides this video, I have another video unedited which I initially want to have it published together but it took me longer than expected just to edit this one video OMG. So that will have to wait until after CNY. On top of that, I am planning to shoot another vlog tomorrow and during CNY, so look forward to it OK! (*°▽°*)♪

I'm officially blogging here

YES! As the title has suggested, I will no longer be blogging on this site kaichousama.wordpress.com and my new blog address will be

I have been thinking of changing my blog name for a while now, if you consider 2 years plus plus, a while. Took me a long, long time to figure out a new name for my blog. The main reason as to why I’ve been wantng to do so it mostly because over the years the direction of my blog has changed.

Initially this blog is mostly a platform to write about my interest, mostly in Jap cultures, uni activities, cultural/cosplay events and so on. Plus, if some of you anime/manga/Japan culture fans have notice, “kaichousama” is Japanese for “President” or “club president”. And yes, I was, am the proud founder and previous president of the Japanese Society in my uni, the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. JSOC UNMC peeps, hellooooo~!!

Moving on, later I started writing reviews, my personal life stuff like places I go, food I eat and then last year OOTDs, some vlogs, blablabla so much that this blog name doesn’t seem so relevant anymore :(

So I started looking up for ideas for blog names. I think at one point I notice bloggers started using their own names but I thought mine was too normal WTH. I mean, type “Vivien Tan” and you’ll find thousands of people with the name… And I don’t really want to write my chinese name because, heck, all my life, I only introduce myself as “Vivien Tan” and only a handful of odd people call me by my Chinese name. Banana* wut.. I don’t even know how to write my Chinese name nevermind knowing the meaning behind it. My parents told me a few years back but I didn’t bother to remember. I just remembered them mentioning “the sifu _Chinese Feng Shui Master _ said it’s a good name”. Aha.

*Banana is the fruit symbology commonly used by Malaysian/Singaporean Chinese to describe non-Chinese speaking, English-educated, well, Chinese people. Ha ha ha

I decided it has to at least have a word that starts with “v”. Because I like it this way LOL.

Okla, let me digress a bit and tell you grandmother story the reason behind it. You see, my lucky number has always been 22 or 2 or anything that means “double” because 22nd is my birthdate. September big baby, yayy! Only recently I found there is a corelation between my name and birthday. Coincidently or not, V is the 22nd letter of the alphabet. And in yet another coincident, I was born on the 22nd Sept, “I” being the 9th letter. Now repeat it twice, it spells “Vivi”, which is my nickname my family/bffs/close buddies call me. Not sure if its pure coincident or my mom purposely made that up. Oh and my first 6 numbers in my IC 900922. Very nice number right LOL

Just for fun, I'm including this

vivien

In conclusion, yes, it just has to start with a ‘v’! And ‘vogue’ is it!

vogue

Vogue means fashionable, so I guess with this name I’m just saying I’m fashionably me or comfortable with being myself :)

Grammatically, the –ly for is ‘vougishly’ but it sounds really odd so instead, I made something new up :)

voguishly

During the past weekends, I started transferring my posts (thankfully for Wordpress import/export function) but I still would need some time to get the layout and everything else right. I’m considering to blog on a weekly basis (if things don’t get too busy) and make more videos. If you’ve checked out my new blog layout (depending on where you’re reading this post), the footer has my videos in it yayyy

So yess, effective February the 4th, I’ll only be posting at voguelyvivien.wordpress.com.

Before I end today’s post, I want to thank YOU, my freaking awesome readers for reading my blog, seeing how this blog has evolved throughout the past five years (this long already!) and growing together with it wth, did you? But no worries, this is not the end, I'm just bringing it into a new level and of course, I'm taking you along HAHAHAHA
