Purikura How Tos (Part III): Lovelizm ♥ Second Collection

I finally got my friends together for Purikura photography session in Mid Valley! Lovelizm ♥ Second Collection has recently replaced Me Her Jyoshi 3 in Mid Valley which is perfect since I appreciate something different with my friends. In today's post I'm going to share the features of this Lovelizm's Purikura machine, so get ready for tons of photos!

Pre-Photography Session
Before you go ahead with posing, you will need to choose your theme between colorful backgrounds or basic white backgrounds. We chose the colorful option.

Final collage option for colorful background are as below.

I looked up online and found the white one have pretty cool collages and effects like these!!! Gahhh, super wanna try this but not sure if my other friends want to...

Lovelizm offers a tons of patterned background in sets but you also can opt to customized your own for plain background. After that, you can opt to have your prints in 3x half body plus 2x full bodies OR all half bodies (maybe 5x to 6x frames). We chose the former for both our sessions. More variety on the prints and the full body shots are perfect to document your outfits!!

- Input name in hiragana or romaji. We opted for alphabets

*One bonus picture with choices between four super kawaii background!!

Photo Session

I noticed that while you still have less time to adjust your pose, the camera lags. In fact after a shot, it took about 3-5 seconds before the screen display your pics, so we took opportunity to quickly discuss our next pose. In the end, there are lots of cheek hugging poses hahaha

Lovelizm doesn't have an option to choose whether you want natural or model length legs such as the one in Oh ♥ My Girl III and the default made all the full body shots have our leg and skirt elongated. Even for eyes size at 'Recommended' got us hugeeee eyes!

Editing Session

Only at this point you can make selection of eyes' size and skin tone. I always choose 'Recommended' settings for skin tone because the prints come out nicer and not too blur (in lighter setting) or saturated (in darker setting).

Lovelizm's unique stickers set includes rabbit & cat ears stamps, which are my first time seeing in Purikura machines, floral garlands, funny side up egg which is kinda wacky plus thick lips stickers.

I tried it on but they looked so odd on us, so I skipped those.

I used filter on this pic. Not sure if filter is Lovelizm's special feature but I don't remember seeing filter option for other purikuras.

OF COURSE, I need to give us red and gradient lippies!

I'm also seeing rainbow color messages but they're quite limited. This machine has better scribble function unlike it's predecessors' scattered pixels cause from uneven lines or lagging, so yayyy!

And the result _ amazing color! By the way, I made a mistake in choosing one of the layout for just two prints instead of three (the wider one) so I coaxed my friend into another session so we each have a copy to serve as commemoration for our first Purikura session together.

Some of the other printouts style you can choose from~~ and no, the size are smaller.

HOWEVER I do notice how the prints (for both 2x and 3x prints) are smaller than my previous ones WTF. I hope it's just something for Lovelizm's machine! Even my friend remarked how she can't see all the stamps and fonts we added to the pics... I hope Puripix do something about it.

my purikura stickers collection

Updates:
1) Cat ears or lips stickers can be automatically added to the heads/faces provided your face if fully capture. Half-captured heads/faces don't work.

2) You can add contact lens! OMG! Again, this only works if your eyes are completely open. If you want to know how this turns out, check out my next post!

3) For multiple prints, you can opt for 2x2 vertical prints (this I chose 4x close up and 2x full body) OR 5x horizontal/vertical prints of seven photos (this I chose 5x close up photos).

4) Lovelizm machine doesn't have eye makeup options but automatically gives you pink eyeshadows and silver-ish glitter waterline.

Another odd observation with Lovelizm purikura machine is that it doesn't print out the bonus photo *freaks out* I may have missed it or not but I'm going to find out soon! Playing again with another bunch of friends yayyyyヾ(≧▽≦*)o

ps, playing Purikura for the first time can be intimidating (at least for me!) so if you're not sure, just make sure you listen to the instructions closely which can be impossible if you have friends who laugh in the interval (my crazy friends) or read the instructions on the screen. The latter is important to tell you which side you need to go to edit your photos!

Purikura How Tos (Part II): Oh My Girl III & Bijou Cosme III

Yesterday I went for yet another #SoloPuri sessions, #CNY2017 theme! I wanna show off my new cheongsam dress and pretty red packets I bought LOL My initial plan was also to take a video of the whole process but I forgot my sim card fml

While I call this post a how to, it's more like a review of the two Purikura machines I tried today. So lucky to find them both! For this I had to go all the way to Aeon Mall Shah Alam and boy getting there by train and taxi was a pain hahahha. Yeah I went a distant solely to play Purikura.

Unfortunately Puripix Malaysia only has one Purikura machines spread at different locations in KL and Selangor, but none in Bukit Bintang, PJ or Subang. I wish there is a shop lot in one or a few of the major shopping malls in KL, something like what they have in the arcade in Golden Gate, Shibuya with about 10 or so Purikura machines #PurikuraHaven \(♥ o ♥/)

Only one of the Purikura machines in Aeon Mall Shah Alam's Tony Molly belong to Puripix Malaysia if I'm not mistaken. I have not seen Bijyou Cosme3 mentioned on Puripix page or instagram. Let's get started with Puripix's Oh♥MyGirl first~~

Oh♥MyGirl

There are a handful of things I love about this machine, for one you can choose the background in sets_either blue and khaki which gives off the Otona/Mature feel and elegant! Super love this function but I opted to choose my own just for fun.

#1

#2

#2 gotta be my favorite. From here you'll notice a few New Year theme stickers. This machine let's you choose 4 season stickers and message stamps! Another cool feature!

#3

#4

#5

#6

Then they have the full body, wide collage. Coolest machine ever!!!!! I'm super in love!! Don't judge my pose, I know I look weird doing the kiss pose.

If you check out the sample collages above, collages like mine here seems to be more suited for two people photos while for 3 people, opting for the frames one are recommended.

#7

Just notice it said, "Beauty is stronger than an ox" (=___=;) LOL!

But seriously can I have this in KL?? I really want to play this Oh♥MyGirl3 with friends!😣

Here's my Purikura printouts. I purposely choose three to experiment on whether printing more will affect the size of the printouts. Unfortunately it does and if you choose to have more than 3 print out a the size of the photos reduced into small squares.

What I did not like about my printouts are that they are super light! I did a mistake and accidentally pressed the lightest option for photo taking and there was no reset option, like usual. Thankfully the downloads have more saturation in them. (Find out how I download them in my last Purikura How Tos post in the How Tos tab)

A lot of my photos shows me unprepared I'm not sure if the time is shorter or I'm simply unprepared this time lol

If you noticed I look taller too because I chose 'Model' option which elongates my features. If you look at photo #6, you see I made a mistake of bending my knees which made my leg 'fat'. That happened before too hahaha. It takes a bit more 'practice' to know the different Purikura machines.

Unlike MeHerJyoshi3, this machine does not pre-cut the printouts and I am guessing because if this, you can't choose different layouts for each prints.

The rest are perfect! I super heart Oh♥MyGirl!!! Why is it so much trouble getting to AMSA (TΔT)

~ ♥ ~

Bijou Cosme 3

This machine reminds me when Gyarus wore heavy makeup and tan skin was hip among them. This it explains why even with recommended settings I look like I have tan and my lips look redder.

Plus there was even makeup setting with blushes and eyelashes options. 😂 I haven't seen it in the other machines I tried!

Obviously I overabused the blushes hahahahha. Do I look cute?

One cool feature I find is that you can make mini instax-like photos. I chose the similar photo but I'm not sure if you can do the same using other pics in the small frame. If it could, that would be really cool! Just came across my mind lol

Unlike Oh♥MyGirl, the printouts can be torn in half without a scissors which is much more efficient. I prefer printouts like this cause like who brings scissors with them? In Japan, machines that don't have pre-cut options have scissors so you can cut your Purikura on the spot! I'm still waiting for my Purikura haven in KL😂

Purikura How Tos (Part I): Purikura Machine Basic

Hello people!! Happy New Year!!

Starting my first post with a how to cause I'm too busy to edit my photos for my long overdue Christmas post. Been as busy as a bee.

As the title has suggested, today's post is a How tos of Purikura machine!!

My obsession with Purikura crept back just recently and I was superfragilisticaspialidociously eager to try it when I had a reason to go to Mid Valley, I did just that. This is not my first time trying Purikura, previously in 2015 when Isetan had some Japan Culture Fair, there were two Purikura machines which I tried though I don’t remember the machine names and then during my company events they rented purikura machines too.

The word “Purikura” is a combination of two words, Print + Club which is Purinto Kurabu and then shortened to PuriKura.

You can find the Purikura machine at Aeon's Molly Fantasy or Cobay's archade. This one I went to is at Mid Valley. Other places in Klang Valley include Aeon Shah Alam, Cobay Berjaya Times Square, Aeon Cheras Selatan, Cobay The Mines and Aeon Metro Prima and the Purikurad theme that are currently available in KL are the Me Her Jyoshi3, Oh My Girl and another one I can't tell the name from the blurry picture online. Gonna try them all and update you!

Unfortunately, there is only one type of Purikura machine, the Me Her Jyoshi3 by Puripix Malayia in MV. I was hoping there were at least more if not two, but nevermind!

And let's begin on the steps to use this Me Her Jyoshi 3 Purikura!

Step 1
First, I went to get my coins, all 13 of them for RM13. For that price, I think it’s pretty reasonable and you can even share the fee with you friends if there are two or more of you. The minimum printouts are two but with Me Her Jyoshi3, you can print 2,4, 6 or more (If I remember correctly! Will update when I try again). Of course, the number of printouts differ with the type of machines.
I am not sure if the height of the printout will differ if you choose 4 or more BUT the size of the photo will decrease with more than 6 printouts. So IMO it’s best to take Purikura with max 3-4 friends unless you don’t mind the size. Optionally, just take more than one Purikura. It’ll be super fun!

Step 2
Get into the cubicle! Each type of machines offer two cubicles, enter whichever. Here are how the cubicle looks like for Me Her Jyoshi3. Most machines have somewhat similar cubicles with each has a spot where you can place you handbags, shopping bag aside while you snap away conveniently.

The camera

Enter the coins and you’ll all set to start!

It's selecting options for your photos from the eye size and skin color and then the background you prefer once you press start.
I chose the center one which is recommended. For one, I prefer natural look but if you want to look fairer, feel free to choose the lightest option. It’s Japanese girls favorite option, so it seems from their Instagrams LOL

Step 3
After that you have a choicr of selecting between Cute/Kawaii or Cute Cool/CawaCool. I chose the latter cause I love Otona style but the background options are still super kawaii nevertheless.

Step 4
For background, you can choose 4 types from Normal, Pattern, Arrange & Filter. These are the options for the CLOSE UP SHOT.

I don’t remember what I chose, but I think they’re mostly from the last 3 tabs cuz the plain ones are too plain but you'll see in a bit LOL

Step 5
Once selected, it’s time for the photo session so get ready to pose!

One tips, in case you don’t have ideas to pose, you can follow the ones flashed on the screens for every shot OR get inspiration from the selecting tab OR the internet. If you want other ideas, I’ll be happy to share them on my next How To Pose for Purikura post.

I didn't follow the poses since I'm doing #SoloPuri while the screen only demo poses for two.

At this point, I didn’t take much screen photos because there were little time between the shots. The first four close up photos just went snapsnapsnapsnap

After taking all near shots, it’s time for the 2x FULL BODY SHOTS. Again, you will need to select the backgrounds and snap away!

And you get another bonus full body shot for the collage! Unfortunately, it is not included in the phone download (get to there soon) ... I like that bonus full shot photo better compare to the second one above :(

Step 6
Once completed, you will be prompt to head RIGHT/LEFT depending on what’s stated on the screen to proceed to DECORATING you shots!

Again I don’t have pics because I initially thought I was given just a few seconds but I had bonus time to decorate. My decors are simple, just wordings aplenty because most of the background I chose have pattern, which saved me time considering I was decorating alone and I am satisfied with just dates & names alone.

At the bottom of each corners, there are four-five tabs which you can choose from stamps, words, etc. which has another set of 5 sub-tabs to choose from! There are also four-five round circles which you can choose to alter the size of stickers/decors.

Here is a photo before I edited it.

Once you’re satisfied with decorating one, go to the center top of the screen and choose the next photo you want to decorate!

Step 7
When all is completed, click done and this will bring you to another page. From here, choose the numbers of printouts you prefer. Based on that, you can select the types of layouts you prefer for the individuals prints! This doesn’t apply if you click the ‘more’ options I think.

And that is it!

Now it’s time to get your prints and while waiting, try to complete the impossible-to-complete Old Maid card game, Gyaru version.

Tadaaa~~ These are my prints~~ One of the best part is the prints came out pre-cut, so there is no hassle in finding scissors LOL. My first Purikura didn't have this function and it was frustrating.

I got lots of compliments for these hehehe #photoshoptothemax

As you can see, I have chosen two different layouts. With only neutral/recommended settings my skin’s so fair and eyes so huge already, goodness!

And yeah, I should have decorated the one in the film style tho, looks empty LOL My other regret is I didn't  try the Kawaii setting...Well, soon!

~~

Hold your horses!

That’s not all, in one of the last options, you can choose to have TWO PHOTOS with NO DECORS downloaded from your phone for FREE! All you need to do is download Puripix app and enter the 16 digit at the bottom of your printouts. By the way, there are TWO 16 digits, so use both and get at least THREE photos FREE!

All your other shots are available to download for a fee.

It's another RM3.50 per coin _ or RM3.15 per coin when you buy 6 coins_ you get to download six photos EXCEPT the one bonus full body shot.

I read some reviews complaining about having to pay an extra fee to download so my suggestion is to download only group pics so you can split the cost which comes down to 80 cents for a group of four or simply memorable friends/family/couple ones. If you ask me, I think the price is OK for the photos came out pretty clear like the ones above (Yeah those are bought).

By the way, there is a TIME LIMIT of about a week to download your Purikura before they are erased from the system. You have been WARNED!

So yes, that concludes my post! I hope you people have fun taking photos at the Purikura machine! As for me, I’ve been showing off my pics to my close buddies & bffs and we’ll be taking purikuras together YAYYYY!!
