A Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy Review & 3 Amazing Ways to UseIt!

Recently I'm obsessed with hot pink colored lipstick because I have been somewhat brainwashed after seeing several Japanese models in magazines adorning them. Have been checking out every single brands I know for lippies of this shades before deciding to buy this Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm in Showy.

Besides reviewing this awesome balm, I will also be showing you the 3 awesome ways to use this Revlon Matte Balm! (⌒▽⌒)

This Revlon Matte Balm is infused with a Triple Butter Complex of Shea, Mango and Coconut Butter that nourishes the lips. It has a pointy crayon tip which doesn't require sharpening and by twisting the silver cap, you can reveal more of it.

Here's how they turned up on me~

Somehow, only when I was editing the photos I realize the color didn't turn out as when I had applied it... It appeared more pinkish and lacking the original blue-ish tone? Not sure if it's from blotting some of the color off and reaction to my lip balm..

Here's the swatch on my hand and lip I took again which turns out closer to the real color.

Very vivid tone! So if you're all for bold colored lippies, this is definitely for you. Overall, I think this lip balm's pretty amazing but if there's one thing about this Revlon ColorBurst Matte Balm that irks me, it would be the peppermint scent! Wish they hadn't come with it...

That's all for the review part. Well I did mentioned earlier that I would show you how to use this balm in 3 different ways. I have shown you one_on my lips, so here's the other two.

Another way to use it is by applying it on the cheek as blusher~!

It turned up pretty subtle and almost natural. And oh, these photos I took at another time and used different makeup (*⌒∇⌒*)

And the third, as an EYELINER!! Yes, you read this correctly!

Thanks to the crayon-like tip, smooth and not-so-sticky texture of this matte balm, drawing on your lids can't get any easier.

Though with my thick double eyelids I find the color tends to get on the crease so I applied it in C-shape the same you do when applying eyeshadow~

And there! The color actually turned out right when I used this Revlon Matte Balm on my eyes.

I actually got my inspiration from Popteen April 2012 issue where Tsubasa Masuwaka wore this somewhat matching hot pink lipstick and eyeliner (scans from Ekiblog).

Sorta remembered it because the cover of the issue featuring Tsubasa is super kawaii (*´∀`*)

my roomie_da chef!

Day 3

Roomie and I decided to cook today instead of eating out for lunch~ We made 2 simple dishes_ she taught me both of them!

She doesn't have a specific name for both the recipes so I should just call the first one 'stir fry spiced frankfurters/sausage' and 'popping seeds stir fry bread'(I'll get to this later).

Such a long name...(,=v=,)

#RECIPE 1 - stir fry spiced frankfurters/sausage

Roomie said she actually gotten this recipe from her Sri Lankan friend~

We usually use normal sausage but I only have cheese frankfurters. Still, we didn't mind the extra flavoring~ And ooh~~~ we just love the bombay onions! They've got a really strong sweet fragrance when cooked.

Oh, and usually instead of chilli paste, we used curry chicken powder and chilli powder but we ran out of them so we just chuck whatever we can substitute them with into the bowl.

[caption id="attachment_1972" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (1) slice the frankfurters~[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1973" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (2) add sliced bombay onions~[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1974" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (3) add pepper[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1975" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (4) add grinded chilli paste[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1976" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (5) mix and leave to marinade for 5-10minutes[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1981" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (6) pan fry each side until brown[/caption]

And finally~

[caption id="attachment_1983" align="aligncenter" width="490"] oishii~~~![/caption]

#RECIPE 1 - popping seeds stir fry bread

Well, there're not exactly called popping seeds but previously we didn't know what's it called and my roomie calls them popping seeds 'cuz they actually do pop! And it gets all messy since the seeds will be flying all over until they're cooked. Hahaha~

This is how we made it~

[caption id="attachment_1977" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (1) tear the bread to bit sizes and sprinkle salt water onto them~[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1978" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (2) stir fry custard seeds and cubed bombay onions till fragrant[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1979" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (3) add dried chillies and fry till fragrant[/caption]

[caption id="attachment_1980" align="aligncenter" width="382"] (4) pour in 2 eggs, beaten and followed by the bread~[/caption]

Finally, fry till egg is cooked and you're done!

[caption id="attachment_1982" align="aligncenter" width="490"] yummy, yummy, yummy![/caption]

LOL. The dining table's a mess since I'm using it as my study table (>v<)

Makan trip with bro(part II)

Okay. So the first photo isn't from a food trip with my bro. I simply stir fry the vege and had it with rice for lunch since I didn't want to waste them.

~ ♣ ~

Now this is the photos taken at 21st Century Club House/Restaurant(?!) in Kajang. Bro chose his all-time favorite Lamb Steak with Swiss Cheese

Me not so prepared to get mah photo taken (',>.<),

I chose chicken cheese randomly from the menu, for the sake of trying something new. Kinda regret a lil' for not getting my normal snack plate. LOL.
