Happy CNY & A Food Post

Gong Xi Fa Ca~~(*⌒∇⌒*八)

As of this month, it is officially the new year according to the Chinese calendar. Took a break from work to go back home to celebrate last weekend~♪

Was really missing Penang food for a long while but besides the Laksa stall at Balik Pulau, very few to none Chinese food stalls were open (; ____ ; ) I didn't get to satisfy my Penang food cravings. Psst, just so you know, Penang was recently acclaimed by Lonely Planet as the top foodie spot of the year! I'm a super proud Penangite ヽ(*⌒∇⌒*)ノ

Still, at least I still can eat lotsa home-cooked food~

Mom literally cooked up a feast at home!

Huge portions of every dish from mixed vegetables with different mushroons, tom yam fish, and roasted chicken and duck(my absolute CNY favorite!) that we took a few meals to finish them.

Not that I am complaining, they're really good! (⌒▽⌒ ) She really feeds us well LOLOL Now drooling and missing home-cooked food yet again just looking of the photo... (T__T  )

We had steamboat some more on day 3. So very yummeh~

There were more dishes _ mushrooms and fried dumplings for the steamboat which I forgot to take because I was too busy stuffing myself HAHAHHAHA

glutton me ( =v=;;)

And of course, not forgetting the tons of CNY cookies and goodies we had at home_Chinese murukku, baby popiah, cranberry poppy seeds cookies, sunflower seed crackers, cornflakes cookies, meat floss and more~!

Pretty much most of the food pics from home~

At work just the other day, one of my colleague bought us instant Yee Sang. Had earlier arranged the ingredients nicely but the peanuts that we poured in last somewhat covered everything and made it looked just like rojak LOL ( >v< )

Then we tossed and mixing them all with our chopsticks and shouting our wishes LOLOL

2013 CNY Day 3: Penang Snake Temple

Last CNY post before I get to review. Took me a while to write this... And okie, you might have noticed I actually skipped CNY Day 2 lol. Not much photos from that day since all I do is visit relatives and collect ang pows a.k.a. red packets.

See all my red packets I collected this CNY~~ ٩(⌒∇⌒)۶

On day 3, my family and I went to the Snake Temple to pray. After all it's the year of the snake mah #chineselogic

Snakes around the temple compound~

Not sure they're real or fake. Didn't see them move an inch.

And there's a really huge python in the snake farm right beside the temple too. They said that if you stroke a yellow python from head to tail, you'll have good luck all year round...

...And I wanted good luck all year round HAHAHAHA

Me stroking it. It's feels weird and I was afraid it might just decided to strike at me. So scared I couldn't feel my hand (T___T)

Not sure if I ever want to do this again LOL

Some other snakes in the enclosures~ There were lots more but I'm too lazy to upload them (≥x≤)

2013 CNY Day 2: hanging out at Daorae~

During CNY my friends and I decided to have lunch at Daorae Korean BBQ Restaurant in Bayan Lepas. Awesome place for BBQ though it can be quite pricey. There're BBQ choices of plain or marinated meat ranging from beef, chicken, pork and lamb.

We ordered all but the lamb. Kinda regret not to recommend it to my friends since I just got to know Daorae BBQ lamb's awesome. Still, we had the beef which was amazing.

Photos nao~

Lettuce for wrapping~

Korean tea, some dips and a side dish.

Oh, btw, we didn't have to do anything but eat. The waiters were in charged with setting the grill, cooking and later cutting the meat to bits when they're cooked. Nais~

These are the marinated chicken meat~ I don't remember what its called since we just ordered by looking at the photos. We only chose the meat we wanted LOL (≥v≤)

Check out the other side dishes they serve that day~

Love the side dishes but my favorite that day was ↑

I think its radish with chili gravy. Hmmm.... not so sure but I had it refilled.

All the side dishes and the tea is refillable but that day there were so many people that day we couldn't get a hold of the waiter to refill them. We wanted refills for other dishes too~! ٩(≥3≤)۶٩(≥ε≤)۶

Marinated pork's next~~(°@°)♥

Then finally, super juicy beef_our favorite♡

In the evening we went to Ayer Itam for tea time before heading to Kek Lok Si temple. I wanted to see the thousands of lanterns being lighted up since they only do so for 15 days or 1 month(I'm not quite sure) every year during CNY.

This is Kek Lok Si~! Well, just a small part of it.
