2D1N Halong Bay Cruise

Checking off one of the places from my travel list Halong Bay last November 2024!

It was my first time staying on a cruise and it was wuitw an experience! Our itinerary was quite chill with Catba Island hike off the itinerary since it was just weeks after the island and the surroundings were hit by a really bad typhoon. I thought we wouldn’t be able to do the cruise but thankfully, all was better when we visited Hanoi and Halong Bay 🙏

One of the activities I always wanted to do in Halong Bay is kayaking! 🛶 The chilly weather and cloudy day made it perfect for the sport. Barely sweat even tho I’m pretty sure I did quite a workout during the one-hour session! Tho on my way back it started to drizzle slightly, the wind got stronger and waves choppier meaning it took wayyy more effort to paddle. I survived that so I’d say great experience🤣 I retired early that evening. Totally KO-ed.

Would totally recommend the cruise early winter for those who love a chill trip 😌 Great for fam with young kids too.

3D2N Penang weekend staycation | Discovering Penang seaside view cafes & more!

Even as a fellow Penangite (or maybe because I'm one), there are many touristy spots on the island I have not visit before. So this time, I play tourist in my own hometown and visit these spots on a short 3D2N weekend staycation. Flew there from KL with AirAsia and took the bus back.

During my stay, I went to the jetties, walked around Gurney Bay, Esplanade and Georgetown.

Besides that, I went to several seaside view cafes that has mushroomed recently (I think!) around the island. My fav being Oceano Symphony but Biru Biru and Batu.PG has great vibes too. Other cafes I visited include China House, Wheelers and Norm Coffee Roastery. That's a lot of cafes for one weekend!
