Tadom Hills Resorts in Banting & other things I've been up to in June

Just when I thought I should rest after my mini Cameron Highlands trip, I received an announcement that my team (at work) will be going to Tadom Hill Resort in Banting as part of our team building session. The news came like just a few days after Cameron Highlands and a day before I am attending my friend's Indian wedding. No wonder I've been feeling tired these days!

Before heading to Tadom Hill for fun time we first had lunch at Dengkil Seafood Restaurant, a two-storey Chinese restaurant in Banting.

We ordered steamed fresh water fish, stir fried vegetables in a yam basket, shrimp omelette, stir fry Vietnamese lettuce (I think!) and fried cuttlefish rings in salted egg sauce.

Getting to Tadom Hill Resorts

After food, we headed to Tadom Hill Resorts, which is about 15 minutes or less, further from the restaurant. I supposed the only way available is via car or Grab/Uber. The road is very narrow and nearing the resort, bumpy for buses.

Admission Fee & What activities to do

For RM22 per person and a refundable deposit of RM50, you can use facilities such as the giant jenga, bamboo raft and the list goes on!

Available facilities can be used for a fee as below.

Safety vest is also included into the fee and a must when you're planning to dive or even climb on the platform. I was reprimanded for not wearing one when I climbed up the platform even though my intention was simply to snap some photos. I definitely wasn't planning to stand too close to the edge but the staff has a point. According to my colleagues who jumped into the lake, it is very deep so you have been warned!

Tip #1: Try to avoid going on Fridays as the staffs have Friday prayers to attend to which means the resort only opens after 2:30PM. If unavoidable, go later in the evening!

Tip #2: Go with sandals. A lot of time you will be needing to remove your shoes and all the sands will get into them.

I find the facilities there quite decent, the washrooms and toilets are clean so no worries about having to bath and change after leaping into the lake!

For rental of ping pong rackets, volley balls or futsal ball, deposits are required. Most importantly, while small, this place is so Instagram-worthy!

Too happening these days, so I decided to include the other things I have been up to in the same blog posts because there are so many other posts to come!

TTDI Ramadhan Market shopping

I love visiting Ramadhan!! This year, I have dropped by the Pasar Ramadhan thrice _ twice in TTDI's and another in Bukit Bintang. Wished I could have gone to the market more often!

My favorite Tepung Pelita. Managed to purchase them the second time I visited the Ramadhan market. The first time they were sold out!

Some random photos I took of 1Utama's Hari Raya decor. It's so pretty!!

Celebrating Dragon Boat Festival with rice dumplings

Don't know why this year gotta be the year I eat a lot of dumpling because my parents dropped by and they bought me chang. A week later, my hommies brought back some homemade Hokkien-style chang she made with her grandmother. Feeling super thankful!

Exploring Shah Alam Botanic Garden, Laman Seni 7 & SS2 Murni Restaurant

It's Raya, people! For that, I would like to wish all my Muslim friends and readers a Selamat Hari Raya! Today's ramblings is on my recent visit to the Shah Alam Botanic Garden the art back street, Laman Seni 7. While my friends and I were there for a walk, I also took some opportunity to snap some photos for my couple friends. Thought I should at least utilize my baby (my new, second hand DSLR) LOL

We were checking out the little pony when out of nowhere, a hog ran out and past us. Gave us quite a shock. Kinda scary because hogs are capable of inflicting serious injuries even death if they feel threathened. Thankfully, this one just ran away. When we took the same route later, we found the same hog eating the pony's food

We didn't go further because it was getting dark and we were tired from all the walking! The furthest point is a 3.5km walk from the animal park and while we really want to explore more. We were there during the fasting month so the services in the parks such as the buggy services are unavailable.

I love parks so would definitely recommend this place to y'all. It's a great place for families and there are a lot of things to explore for a mere fee of RM3 per person! There are replicas of traditional tree houses, pretty gazebos, an animal park, a lotus pond and so forth. I strongly think this Botanic Garden should also be promoted as a sightseeing spot for tourists! The only problem is getting there may be a problem without any public transportation and it can get really pricey (approximately RM30, might be higher on peak hours) to Uber/Grab all the way to Shah Alam unless you're in a group.

Our next stop is Laman Seni 7, just about 10 minutes drive away. Our initial plan was to go to iCity too, since it has been years since I was last there and my Indonesian friends have never been there. However, the iCity's site is so confusing we didn't know if the entrance fees are for one person or a group! When I was there years ago, I only needed to pay the group entrance-cum-car park fees.

We didn't stay long because the sun has set. Before we left, I took the opportunity to try snapping photos with my LED string lights ala Brandon Woefle. Took me a few trials before I got the hang of it. Here is one of my favorite pic (⌒o⌒)

For dinner, we decided to head back to PJ to have our dinner at SS2 Murni Restaurant, a mamak famous for its fusion, modern menu and generous portion of meals.

My mee raja tomyam.

My friend's mee raja biasa.

Mee goreng mamak served with chicken maryland and fries.

Add on roti cheese.

Butter chicken rice served with fries and keropok.

my birthday celebrations, a random adventure in Kanching Falls and a wedding

Hello people~! I know I had neglected my blog for a few weeks now. Got caught up with work which is obviously my main priority and after that I had to study for my language test which I passed, which means another level up YAYYYY!

From the title you might have guessed what's this post about. Thought I should fill you on what I've been up to when I wasn't busy LOL.

Last month, I turned 26! Despite all the hectic-ness at work, my friends made sure I celebrated my birthday, which was super nice of them :D I'm usually not the type to bother about my own birthday nor appreciate surprises but I liked them. Mostly because I get to spend amazing time with two group of friends turn awesome buddies which made it wayyy more enjoyable! Though there were a number of drinking session which definitely is a new personal record LOL. Yeah, I'm not one who find pleasure in alcohol.

In the first outing, we had our dinner in this cafe-bar place called Uncle Don's. Handsdown they're my new favorite spot. The food was absolutely delicious!

The place was so packed luckily a friend was there earlier to reserve seats for us, else it would have been quite a wait. They also served mocktails with rather amusing names. We had this S*x on the beach and Margarita. They tasted amazingly disgusting IMO tho my friends loved it. Closet alcoholics.

On my next meetup with another group of friends, we had Shabu Shabu before heading to this amazing bar, I-don't-remember-the-name Bosko that serves like, 15 types of Mohitos which is one of my newfound favorite alcoholic beverages because it's pretty much lime-y and sweet. Nothing too disgusting hahahah. But this one way quite rum-y it was quite rum-y so meh.

Shabu shabu dinner~

My mohito~

Oh, I almost forgot! The place serve this pretty amazing drink called Flaming Lamborghini on the house for birthday people and it was such an amazing experience. Luckily I had my guy friends helped me drink part most of them cause it tasted too sweet to my liking. I just pretended to drink along hahahahahah. Didn't have a pic cause we had to drink it as soon as it was lighted and flowing.

Also got this brownie from them and they were nice to add the firework sorta candle on top LOL

Dearest Cherlyn got me this Shiroi Koibito and Gummy Choco as prezzies sweeeeet!!

~ ❤ ~

Later that weekend I had potluck party among my language exhanged friends and I made this Kek Batik which turned out to be quite a hit and because of that I couldn't take a decent photo of my masterpiece LOL

This is my kek batik LOL

Fast forward to just last weekend, my friend decided to go on this random waterfall hike at Kanching Falls and invited me along. It was quite a long ride from the city but we were super excited and energized when we arrived. That didn't last too long for me tho WTF.

We hiked up the like, five flight of uneven stairs and just the second flight of stairs I was heaving and sweating, needing to stop. Was so embarrassed of my level of stamina..

Nature's stairs

Along the way up, we passed by several waterfalls. I was quite amazed that there were quite a number of levels of waterfalls. It's my first really, to hike by the waterfalls.

One of the level we passed by~ The waterfall is spectacular!

We stopped at the fifth level, as there was no one and thus more privacy before taking a long, nice dip in the pool which initially appeared shallow but we were surprise to find it's quite the opposite.

The water was super cool and refreshing! Can't get enough of all the dipping!

Afterwards we had some nice Chinese dinner before heading back. Nice day, I would say. Would definitely love to do more hiking~~~ Gahh I'm already missing the place.

~ ❤ ~

And now, fast forward to just yesterday, my former colleague got married and held the ceremony in their new love nest LOL. Super happy for this lucky couple!

#MOTD

It's a garden theme wedding so the whole place is decorated with flowers including this table center piece.

Those are what I've been up to! If you're interested in what makeup I was using, don't forget to checkout my next post! I'll be listing them down~~
